Family trip to Istanbul
Bakirkoy Daily Apartment for a Family Trip to Istanbul
On a family trip of a few days in Istanbul, a daily apartment in Bakırköy works well, especially for families with children: with a separate bedroom, you can spend time in the living room while the children sleep early, and you can prepare the child's food in the kitchen at your own pace. For families of 4–5, the two-bedroom apartment (2+1) is a suitable choice; for families of 2–3, the one-bedroom apartment (1+1) is a suitable choice.
What makes the apartment practical for families
- Separate rooms: The home is arranged around the child's sleep schedule; not everyone has to wait for the lights to go out in the same room.
- Kitchen: Breakfast, snacks and simple evening meals are prepared at home. It is easier to give your child the food they are used to at their usual time.
- Building with a lift: Getting up to the floor with a stroller, suitcases and shopping bags is easier.
- Building with security cameras: You feel more at ease with children at check-in and check-out and on late evening returns.
- Regular cleaning and 24/7 hot water: Hot water is ready at any hour on days with children.
If you have a special need, such as a baby cot, ask before booking; we will give you a clear answer.

Sample plan for three nights
Day 1: settling in and Bakırköy
- Check in after 14:00, take the luggage up in the lift and settle in.
- First shopping at the market around Freedom Square.
- Late-afternoon walk on the Bakırköy seafront; the long waterfront with a walking and cycling path gives children room to run.
- Dinner at home.
Day 2: the Historic Peninsula
- In the morning, take Marmaray to Sirkeci.
- Walk to Sultanahmet or take the T1 tram.
- Return in the afternoon before the children get tired; rest at home in the evening.
Day 3: aquarium and seafront
- Take Marmaray to Florya Akvaryum station, then go to Istanbul Aquarium (Florya).
- Return in the afternoon; if you like, Capacity shopping mall is about 9 minutes on foot.
Day 4: check-out
- Check-out is by 11:00. If your journey is in the evening, ask about late check-out in advance.
- Having breakfast at home on the last morning and packing at an easy pace makes check-out less stressful.
For a rainy day
Istanbul weather can disrupt plans. On such a day, head indoors: Capacity shopping mall is about 9 minutes on foot from the apartment, and Galleria AVM is in Ataköy. Spending the day at home and cooking with the children is also an option; that is exactly the advantage of having an apartment.
Making the sightseeing day easier with the kitchen
- Having breakfast at home before heading out cuts down on time spent looking for a café in the morning.
- Take snacks prepared at home with you while sightseeing during the day.
- Cooking dinner at home is often easier than waiting in a crowded restaurant with tired children.
- Do a big shop on the first day; on the following days you only top up what is missing.
Small tips for families
- Tell us your arrival time in advance; with children, a planned check-in on a late-night arrival makes things easier.
- At check-in, every guest needs a passport; Turkish citizens can also use a T.C. ID card. Keep the family's documents together.
- Buying basic supplies on the way for the first evening reduces the need to go shopping on day one.
- Set one main sightseeing goal per day; returning to Bakırköy and spending the evening at home balances the day for children.
- Build the schedule around the children's sleep times. Marmaray from Sirkeci back to Bakırköy takes about 20 minutes, so it is easy to return home in the afternoon and rest.
